What is co-living?

Co-living is a form of shared housing designed to support purpose-driven lives. It is a modern and urban lifestyle centered around empowering people to be active contributors and collaborators of the communities that they are a part of. Co-living offers housing solutions that include high-quality living spaces and memberships that are flexible and all-inclusive (utilities, housekeeping and social events).


What is a Hmlet member?

Once you secure a room in one of our co-living spaces (1 month deposit + 1 month rent) you automatically become a Hmlet member. That means that you will be invited to all the events Hmlet organises and have access to exclusive offers on top of meeting new people. A Hmlet membership means that you have chosen to become part of a community of people that live together and are accountable to each other.


What services does my membership include?

At Hmlet we take care of all the little things that stand in the way of you enjoying the full potential of your space and fellow members. That’s why our memberships are inclusive of utilities, cleaning fees and weekly common area cleaning. We also offer a single point of contact with our Hmlet Community Managers who provide logistical support throughout your membership.

Hmlet also offers personal living space cleaning services for an additional fee (bedroom and/or bathroom). You can opt for weekly or ad-hoc cleaning, bookings for additional cleaning are made through the Hmlet App or your dedicated Community Manager.


What will I find in my room/flat?

All Hmlet homes are move-in ready and come fully equipped with stylish contemporary furniture, kitchen equipment and utensils.

Your room comes fully furnished with a bed frame, mattress & mattress protector, and closet (most Master Rooms will include a desk and side table). You can bring your own furniture in your room too if you prefer (set up and removal costs will incur).

A move-in set is available for purchase at an extra fee, consisting of 2 pillows, fitted sheet, duvet, duvet cover & a towel set (bath and face). Everything will be set-up by our Hmlet staff before you move in.


Is Hmlet pet-friendly?

Yes, we are! You just have to make sure the rest of your housemates are agreeable to it.

What do I do if I have an emergency in my flat?

Whether your air-con is faulty, or a lightbulb isn’t working, email in to help@hmlet.com and our Community Managers will help you right away!


What type of events does Hmlet organise?

We hold weekly and monthly events that bring Hmlet members together for some fun and networking. Our events range from parties, workshops to city-discovering tours. Make sure you keep an eye out on our Facebook page and Instagram for upcoming events!


Is there an app for Hmlet members?

The Hmlet app is on its way! We’re working on an app that’s going to change the way you live. You’ll be able to book services and report home related issues directly on the app. You can also keep track of Hmlet events and have a quick preview of who’s in your building through the app.

What is people matching?

At Hmlet we believe that life is richer when people live together. We also believe that each and every one of us is different,and that while all of us can get along, affinities and relatedness spring faster between certain types of personality profiles than others. Leveraging advanced psychometric techniques, Hmlet matches members that have compatible psychological profiles and are likely to benefit from each other within its spaces.


What criteria does Hmlet use to match people?

Hmlet uses 10 data points to draw up coliving profiles for each of its existing and potential members. Blending different types of psychological data, coliving profiles allows Hmlet to cater to the lifestyle and developmental needs of its members, no matter how long they stay in the space, where they come from.


What if I am unhappy with my match?

Becoming a Hmlet member means that you have access to all Hmlet spaces. Should you find yourself in a situation where a potential mismatch is causing you distress, and you have taken all steps to address occasional relationship hiccups, we place you in the next available space with matching profile.


What type of Community life can I expect?

Terms & Payments


Is there a minimum stay I have to commit to?

You have to commit to a minimum of 3 months with Hmlet. Afterwards, your contract will be extended on a month-by-month basis.


Do I need to pay a Deposit?

Yes, we need to hold on to 1 month’s worth of deposit.


Do I need to serve notice if I choose to vacate?

Whether you’re leaving the country, relocating or would like to change your neighbourhood, you’ll have to inform us 30 days in advanced.


Is there a minimum stay period? ?

Yes, you must commit to a place for a minimum of 3 months. After that, you’ll be able to vacate our home or transfer to any of our other co-living properties around the world, as freely as you want. We simply request you provide us a 30 days notice period.


When is rent due?

Rent is due on the 1st of every month. If you moved in mid-month, your rent will be prorated from the day of the month you moved in with us.
